Mold 379-250-RF for Precision Rifle Cartridge Reloading

90324

LEE 2-Cavity Bullet Molds specifically designed for the .375 Winchester caliber offer precision and reliability for metallic and semi-metallic reloading enthusiasts. These molds produce bullets with a diameter of .379 inches and a weight of approximately 250 grains, featuring a flat nose (RF) profile optimized for both the .375 Winchester and the 38-55 Winchester Center Fire (WCF) cartridges.

With a ballistic coefficient of approximately 0.250, these flat nose bullets ensure consistent trajectory and terminal performance, making them ideal for medium to large game hunting and target shooting applications where accuracy and controlled expansion are critical.

LEE’s 2-cavity molds are engineered from high-grade aluminum blocks, providing excellent thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance. Aluminum molds heat up and cool down significantly faster than traditional iron or steel molds, allowing for increased casting efficiency and reduced cycle times during bullet production.

The lightweight nature of aluminum—approximately one-third the weight of iron or steel molds—reduces operator fatigue during extended casting sessions, enhancing user comfort and precision. Each mold’s two halves are securely clamped together with robust wooden-handled tongs, ensuring zero movement or misalignment during the molten lead pouring process, which is essential for producing uniform, high-quality projectiles.

Note that bullet weights may vary slightly depending on the specific lead alloy composition used, as different alloys have varying densities and melting points. Included with the mold are the wooden-handled tongs and an integrated sprue cutter blade, which functions as a lead pour spout and facilitates clean separation of the finished bullets from the mold.

For optimal mold longevity and bullet quality, it is highly recommended to thoroughly degrease the mold before initial use. Additionally, seasoning the mold by smoking or applying specialized mold release compounds helps prevent lead adhesion and ensures smooth bullet extraction. It is important to never lubricate the interior cavity of the mold, as this can negatively affect bullet surface finish and mold integrity.

Lightly lubricate the screw that secures the sprue cutter blade to maintain smooth operation and prevent corrosion. Proper maintenance and handling of LEE bullet molds will provide reloaders with consistent, high-performance bullets tailored for precision hunting and shooting disciplines.
